Edinburgh

As I put on my shoes this morning, I remembered these were the ones I wore on my day about Edinburgh a couple of years ago.

Woodland Creatures

Los Angeles Wild

This is some kind of Cudweed, although I'm not sure which.
Longstem Buckwheat is extremely beautiful. It decorates the same hillside as the Cudweed and a few abandoned automobiles. Both of these wildflowers bloom in late summer, Los Angeles' equivalent to winter, when everything else goes dormant.

Meanwhile

I went for a walk in Malibu. Here's what I found: an empty green sea urchin, dried stick sculptures, and a flaming heart.

Vermont Cabins

Thanks for waiting in the car for me as I took these, Mom! I still want to steal one to hide up in the woods.

Woods

The magic of the woods in shadows, hiding thrushes, and ghostly indian pipes.

Arroyo Seco

I know I meant this blog to be only photographs. But I have had this guy on my mind lately, and he never let me take his photo. This amateur drawing will have to do. I miss his Sunday visits and making him his bagel and oatmeal raisin cookie and his nightly americano and glass of water with extra ice. God I hope no one ever forgets his drink.

Editing

I'm terrible at knowing which image to choose sometimes. William Eggleston always said he only took a picture once, which I don't have the balls for, but admire. It sure would make posting easier. I think the problem is that I can find something I like in almost every picture.

Goodbye Somerville

There were many pictures I meant to take. So many days going through my life I'd see a landscape I wanted to photograph. In my mind it would grow and grow and not having taken it would be one of those things that made me feel bad in the middle of the night. SO before leaving Somerville I made sure to go out and take some of those photos. Of course they didn't come out like in my head, but they are still important to me. I have some others I haven't scanned yet I will try to post too.

California

Being new to California, there are things that are quite striking to me that I hope do not fade in my mind. I hope I never get used to the crazy flora, nestled vistas, and my mom getting excited about the beach.
